Matt's Film Work

 

As a screenwriter, Matt was commissioned to write Any Day Now for Garage Films. He also wrote the English subtitles for the Chinese blockbuster Gone With the Bullets (Columbia Pictures/Beijing Buyilehu) by Jiang Wen.

Official Selection of 30 USA and Int'l film festivals, including Spain's 2015 Festival of Aguilar de Campoo, where it won the Audience Award for Best Short Film, the Young Jury Award and a "Special Jury Mention."

GONE WITH THE BULLETS: English subtitles by Matt Hoverman

Official Selection: 2015 Berlin Film Festival. Jiang Wen's must anticipated follow-up to his 2010 comedic western actioner "Let the Bullets Fly" - which was the one of the biggest box office hits in China's history, "Gone With the Bullets" was the first Chinese film co-financed by a major Hollywood studio - Sony. Matt's subtitles - an act of comic adaptation for Western audiences - were credited with helping it get into the Berlin Film Festival.
