Production History

WHO YOU SEE HERE received its world premiere at the Martha's Vineyard Playhouse Aug. 4th - Sept. 2nd, 2017, directed by Jeanie Hackett, starring Mather Zickel, Angela Goethals, Kat Fairaway and Russell Soder.

Rave reviews included:

“A smart, witty, and very funny play… with a blow out of a finale… but it’s really in the one-liners, delivered with perfect timing by a terrific cast of four, that make this two-act play shine."

- Martha's Vineyard Times

"A brisk, yet insightful new farce… Mr. Hoverman’s crisply comic, yet empathetic writing, and the strong cast, lift WHO YOU SEE HERE far above genre clichés."

- Vineyard Gazette

The comedy was previously given two all-star readings: at the Mark Taper Forum Studios starring Christina Ricci, Dane Cook, Marin Hinkle and Ron Livingston, and at the Kirk Douglas Theatre starring Debra Messing, Alicia Silverstone, Tom Everett Scott and Alan Tudyk.  It also received a one-week workshop at the La Jolla Playhouse.  All were directed by Christopher Ashley (XANADU, MEMPHIS).

WHO YOU SEE HERE was developed through the Naked Angels Tuesdays@9 Cold Reading series, a Naked Angels First Mondays reading and in an Equity Showcase produced by the Barrow Group (directed by Stacey Shane and starring Marika Becz, Melaena Cadiz, Joe Forbrich and Adam McLaughlin.)
