"The Lost Pyramid" wins a Sentinel Award! (See Matt's speech!)
Tonight, my Sofia the First episode "The Lost Pyramid" (about Disney's first princess with a disability - the adventurous Princess Cassandra, who happens to be blind) was honored with a Sentinel Award (given out by the Norman Lear Center) - in the company of shows like Speechless, GLOW, Chicago Med, Madam Secretary, Grey's Anatomy, Sesame Street, 13 Reasons Why, One Day at a Time and Empire.
This award is given out annually to "recognize exemplary achievements in TV storylines that inform, educate and motivate viewers to make choices for healthier and safer lives."
I couldn't feel more honored or grateful to the wildly talented Sofia First cast, crew and executives, with whom I share this award.
